This page explains what GoNearbys collects, which outside services may receive information and how advertising will work when it is enabled.

You can browse GoNearbys without creating an account. The site does not currently provide a server-side member account or checkout.
Ask GoNearbys requests
When you use Ask GoNearbys, the sentence you enter is processed to understand your requested place, people, time, budget, setting and preferences. The GoNearbys application does not save the request text to its product database. Results come from structured GoNearbys knowledge, with live-source links for details that can change.
Recommendations, listings and Grow Together applications
Recommendation, standard business-listing and Grow Together forms save your information securely so the GoNearbys team can review it. Submitted information may include your name, email address, phone number, business or place details, online links, proposed value exchange and any message you provide. We use contact details for review and follow-up; they are not displayed publicly.
Grow Together email addresses and phone numbers are used for review and follow-up and are not shown on public partner profiles. If an application is approved, the public profile may show the business or project name, applicant type, category, location, website or social link, description and agreed exchange summary. Nothing is published automatically.
Basic technical information
Our hosting provider may process routine request information needed to securely deliver the site, such as an IP address, browser type, requested page, timestamps and security signals.
Privacy-conscious product analytics
GoNearbys keeps aggregate daily counts for a limited set of actions, such as Ask usage, result opens, direction clicks, saved-place actions and itinerary shares. These counters do not contain the sentence you asked, precise coordinates, names, email addresses or device identifiers.
Cookies and local storage
GoNearbys may use browser storage for the installed web-app experience and to keep places or an itinerary you choose to save. Saved places and plans stay on your device and are not sent to GoNearbys. This storage is not used to build an advertising profile.
Third-party services can use cookies or similar identifiers under their own policies. Where law requires consent for optional advertising technologies, visitors will be offered a choice before those technologies are used.
How advertising will work
GoNearbys has connected Google AdSense and requested a site review. Advertising will not be served until Google approves the site and activates ad serving for the connected GoNearbys publisher account.
When active, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers and information about visits to show, limit, personalize and measure ads, depending on your region and consent choices. Google may process data under its own privacy terms.

Ads will be separated from editorial recommendations. Cash promotions will be labelled as sponsored or paid partnerships. Non-cash promotional exchanges will be labelled as Grow Together partnerships. Neither payment nor value exchange guarantees a positive review, customer numbers, sales or inclusion in GoNearbys editorial picks.
Services beyond GoNearbys
- Google Fonts provides page typography and may receive basic request information when a font loads.
- Google Maps Platform may supply live place names, photographs, ratings, review content, opening information and links within GoNearbys. This content is requested when you open a local shortlist or place detail and is not permanently copied into the GoNearbys directory. Google and contributing authors remain identified beside their content. Your use of this content is subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms and the Google Privacy Policy.
- Location choices stay under your control. If you tap “Use my location,” your browser asks permission. Coordinates are used temporarily to rank that request and are not saved or included in GoNearbys analytics. If you then open a live search or route, the coordinates may be included in the Google Maps request you chose to open.
- Wikimedia Commons supplies selected credited images and may receive basic request information when those images load.
- Your email provider handles any email correspondence you choose to send GoNearbys.
Stay in control
You can block or delete cookies and site storage using your browser controls, though offline and installed-app features may work differently. You can also manage Google ad personalization through My Ad Center.
To ask what personal information GoNearbys holds, request a correction, withdraw an unpublished application or ask for deletion, contact us using the address below. We may retain limited information where reasonably needed for security, legal obligations or resolving a request.
